It’s Fri-YAY and you know what that means! Fiji Joe Turmeric Immune Boosting Citrus Cocktail all around! What better way to begin the weekend with a healthy cocktail? I don’t know about you but when it comes to Friday, I am so beat by a busy work week. That’s why the Fiji Joe Turmeric Immune Boosting Citrus Cocktail drink is my go-to drink to begin my weekend. I know what your next question is… Can a cocktail be immune boosting? Only if it has the right ingredients… And oh baby, have we got them all! We’ve got Fiji Joe Turmeric, first and foremost with its’ anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and the added bonus of, wait for it, antinausea properties. What hangover? We’ve got the juice and zest of oranges and lemons, packed with vitamin C and is also an antioxidant. Add a dash of vodka, top it off with some lovely prosecco and you’ve got yourself a healthy cocktail!

Yield: 1 x large alcoholic drink

Cooking time: 10 minutes
Total time: 15 minutes

For the Citrus simple syrup:
1 cup of filtered water
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons Fiji Joe Turmeric
2 tablespoons fresh, grated ginger
1 tablespoon zest of an orange

For the Fiji Joe Turmeric Immune Boosting Citrus Cocktail:
1 ½ ounces vodka or whatever suits your fancy
¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 tsp of lemon juice
2 tsp of the citrus simple syrup
Orange wedge to garnish


To make the citrus simple syrup:
In a small pot, pour in the water and sugar and bring this to a boil, stirring frequently. Once boiling, turn the heat to low then add fresh ginger root, orange zest, and Fiji Joe Turmeric. Whisk to combine and simmer for 5 minutes. Strain the syrup into a sealable container and chill until ready to use. This syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 14 days.

To make Fiji Joe Turmeric Immune Boosting Citrus Cocktail:
Fill a glass halfway with your favorite chilled prosecco. Gently stir in the vodka, orange juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Taste and add more lemon juice or syrup as desired. Garnish with an orange wedge and enjoy chilled!
